Regency Costumes Are Hard To Find

The Regency era had a very specific look

One of the things that’s great about Pride and Prejudice as a source text for our first story world is that it’s very dialogue-driven. Interactive entertainment can already do a lot of action and cinematic effects, but being able to present true conversation is more unusual.  

The right setting and clothing provide context and a feeling of authenticity but you know what’s not easy to find? Regency-era costumes and props in game asset stores. There are many games and other interactive entertainment that lean into the Victorian or Old West aesthetics, but then there is a huge gap in historical content until the Middle Ages, and those are usually fantasy influenced. The whole “Georgian era", that includes the “Regency”, is completely absent. We’ve made a lot of great strides in producing our own as a result, both for individual costumes and sets.
